DRAWING

Instructor: Peter Granucci
Dates: Wednesday, September 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, 4:30-6pm
Price: $170.00
The best thing one can do as an artist is to draw and work with ease and confidence. My goal in this class is to help you learn to confidently begin and develop your drawings. We’ll cover topics such as: how to draw proportionally and how to put them in scale to other objects, values, rendering, and user friendly artist’s linear perspective (a crucial skill to use in all drawings and paintings.) Drawing in this class will be discussed both as an end in itself; and as it relates to painting better paintings. All artists can benefit from this, but it is directed mostly at beginner and intermediate levels.

A MASTER CLASS IN LANDSCAPE PAINTING

Instructor: Peter Granucci
Dates: September 29, October 20, November 17, December 8, January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4
Times: 9am-4pm each session (with a potluck lunch)

Tuition: $1,150 for all nine sessions, or $135 each session with the understanding that you are committing to the full series of classes and payments. Students can choose to pay for the whole series at once, or to pay month by month if necessary; pay for the full series and save. Makeup sessions are offered for missed sessions. (10% discount for members! = $1,035 for full series and /or $121 session.)

Learn how to set yourself apart as an artist and go beyond copying to creating. In this class you’ll learn how to create more compelling images, create a mood and develop a more dynamic process for your work. This class is for all levels but especially for the painter that wants to take their work to the next level of accomplishment. You’ll not only gain insights into how to paint the parts (trees, roads, buildings, clouds etc.) but you’ll also learn how to assess the quality of your references, see the important and relevant information, make the necessary improvements all the while giving you the confidence to modify, adjust, and create images unique to you and your sensibilities.
This class will include: lectures, demonstrations, individual and group positive critiques, and lots of time to paint! Some other topics covered will be color, composition, design, form, volume, and depth. We will also look at historical paintings to gain insights into what they did to make us want to look at their work. What it doesn’t teach is a style or specific method rather it will help you improve your own style and method. It can help you paint more realistically or more abstractly, it’s all in the application of the artistic principles.
This class always develops a lot of artistic comradeship and we have excellent potluck lunches!

**ENROLLMENT FOR THIS CLASS IS NOT OFFERED ONLINE** Please register by calling the Library Arts Center at 603.863.3040 or stopping in to the Arts Center office.
