1) DROP IN OR CALL – Call the Library Arts Center office at 603-863-3040 or stop by during gallery hours (Tues-Fri. 11am-4pm, Sat. 10am-2pm) Your registration is complete when we have received your competed registration form, as well as payment for the class.
2) PRINT & MAIL a registration form with your check.

*PLEASE NOTE: If the class of your choice is full or canceled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and entitled to a full refund. Class tuition is due in full on or before the first day of the class session. Make-up classes will only be offered when the instructor is unable to teach his/her class.

Members of the Library Arts Center may subtract 10% from tuition prices of all classes. Scholarships for children’s classes are available; please inquire.

Sewing a Hand-Tied Quilt

With even the most basic of sewing skills, come to this four morning class and leave with a quilt!
Join us in the new sewing studio space to create your own beautiful spring floral hand tied lap quilt over the course of 4 Saturday mornings in May. You can bring your own sewing machine, or request free use of one of the Arts Center’s when registering if needed (note LAC machines stay in the studio and are for use during class only). This class will walk those with basic sewing through the process of sewing this quilt! Click here for the materials list.

Materials to be purchased by participants:

7 fat quarters - floral fabric
8 - 10 fat quarters of coordinating tone on tone fabric
1 yard of border fabric
2/3 yard of binding fabric
60” x 70” each fleece and backing fabric
matching 100% cotton tread and wool yarn
*scissors, *rotary cutter, *cutting mat, pins, *seam ripper, *tape measure.

*NOTE: If you don’t have sewing scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat, seam ripper and tape measure- know that there are some in the studio for students to share. If you have your own, or want to get your own, this will speed up your process as you won’t have to wait to share, but know it’s OK to depend on the studio set to save you from investing if you’re just starting out!

Sewing Retreat

Treat yourself to a creative retreat! Get a project DONE in this inspiring environment.
Friday evening we will have refreshments, set up tools, projects, machines and meet other quilters. Saturday, enjoy time exclusively set aside just for you to start a new project or finish a UFO (an “UnFinished Object”) you’ve been wanting to complete. The retreat will provide a fun and inspiring environment, creative community, light sewing guidance as needed by hosts and accountability! Friday and Saturday snacks provided, bring your own bag lunch.

Remember doing this as a kid? It’s just as fun now, and the results are better!
Make yourself a necklace as a (belated) Mother's Day gift. Create your own shrink art charms, personalized with children's names, and add charms and gems. The result: a necklace that celebrates you! All materials provided, but if you have a charm or jewelry part you'd like to incorporate, please bring it. Remember doing Shrinky Dink as a kid? Well it is just as fun as an adult, and your results are well, a lot better!


DRAWING CLASS

Description: The best thing one can do as an artist is to draw and learn to work with ease and confidence. The instructor’s goal in this class is to help you learn to confidently begin and develop your drawings. We’ll cover topics such as: how to draw proportionally and how to put them in scale to other objects, values, rendering, and user friendly artist’s linear perspective (a crucial skill to use in all drawings and paintings.) Drawing in this class will be discussed both as an end in itself; and as it relates to painting better paintings. Participants in this fall’s drawing class with Peter will find that this class builds off where that class left off while also welcoming new students, all participants can benefit from this, but it is directed mostly at beginner and intermediate levels.

Needle Felting Drop- In Open Studio

This drop- in open studio felting offers time, space and community for those interested in felting. Come felt along others in the studio in an inspiring, encouraging and fun setting. Facilitator, Jennifer Boyd, will be working on her own felting projects but will be available to offer light guidance and encouragement as needed. Bring your materials and your projects, felting pads will be available for those that need them. Needles and wool are available for purchase from the facilitator if desired. Work on your own projects, get inspired to do new projects, make felting friends, and have some creative fun. No pre-registration necessary, just show up and sign in and pay when you attend.

Needle-Felted Cat Toys

Tuition: $12, includes all materials
Location: 15 Main Street Studio Classroom
Dates: Tuesday, June 4th, 6-8pm
Ages: Teens and Adults
Maximum number of 12 students
Students will create their own cat toys in this fun two hour workshop. Felted Toys can be filled with cat nip, bells or both and will be created out of colorful wools. Learn the tricks to felting with items inside the wool. This class is sure to be a hit with your feline friends.
In addition to the basic felting materials, bells and catnip will also be provided!


BASKET WEAVING

Instructor: Ray Lagasse

Tuition: Varies by basket choice: see link for BASKET OPTIONS
In this one-day workshop students can choose to make one of a variety of baskets including a wool gathering basket, laundry basket, double-pie, or pack basket (see other options at the link below). The baskets will be woven using reed with a hardwood base, rails, and rim. All materials are created and prepared by Ray Lagasse. Each participant will be asked to choose which basket he or she will be making upon registration. Each Student will leave the workshop with the completed basket of his or her choosing. Registration will close a week before the class starts. **Students who cancel before the class will still owe a $35 fee for materials preparation.

ADULT OPEN STUDIO ART GROUP

DROP-IN FEE per session: $8 members / $12 non-members
ONGOING, WEDNESDAYS, 9am-12noon
Looking for a time to work on current projects? Be inspired to work in a studio environment alongside other area artists in this drop-in group that meets on a weekly basis. The class facilitator, Heidi Lorenz, is available for light guidance. All mediums are welcome. No prior experience is necessary. Please bring all supplies you will need for your projects. WATERCOLOR FOR DIFFERENTLY-ABLED ADULTS

This inclusive group meets in the studio for inspired watercolor art projects with artist and instructor Becky Bense. This class is designed to engage differently-abled adults as well as their caregivers in fun, creative art projects! Please contact the Library Arts Center if you know of a student who would be interested in joining this group.



THE SPRING LANDSCAPE: LESSONS FROM THE AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISTS

Pastel workshop with Robert Carsten, PSA

Join master pastelist Robert for a fun and informative workshop which will concentrate on putting into practice specific compositional devices, color concepts, textural ideas, pastel application and more — garnered from our great legacy of American Impressionist painting in New England, The day begins with a concise and helpful visual presentation and demonstration of the lesson: The awakening spring landscape in sunlight and shadow including color temperature lessons.This workshop features at-easel and general critiques and lots of painting time. Work from your own images or one of the instructor’s. All levels welcome, beginner through advanced.
