Event description

Description

Participants will learn to form sheets of paper by hand and then add dimension by using screen printing techniques with pigmented paper pulp instead of traditional inks. The techniques explored in Paper Pulp Printing are inspired by paper art works in Ursula von Rydingsvard: The Contour of Feeling. This workshop is instructed by Nicole Donnelly of paperTHINKtank, a community accessible hand papermaking studio in Philadelphia that produces sustainable and local handmade paper and books using invasive plants and renewable resources.

Instructor Nicole Donnelly is a hand papermaker and visual artist. She is the current President of the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists (IAPMA); a Board Member of The Soapbox: Community Print Shop & Zine Library in West Philly; a member of the Friends of Dard Hunter; and a co-organizer of the Hand Papermaking Community Documentation Project.
