Those familiar with the Boy Scouts of America will understand that the Pinewood Derby was the coolest thing those little nerds ever did. For the uninitiated, the concept is simple—carve a wood block into a custom car shape, paint it, add wheels, then race it against your buds on a giant gravity-powered ramp.

It's time to re-live that glory now, as adults, who can drink beers, have fun and win prizes for speed and design. Attendance is free and open to the public, so bring friends along to cheer you on.

Individual Car Registration - $10

!!! Registration is open up until the day of the derby. !!!

We're asking for a $10 registration fee per car which will get you a special swag bag and enter your whip into the car show (prizes for most dope-looking vehicle) and race tournament (prizes for fastest rides). Your entry fee will help cover the cost of ramp construction and prize packages.

Registrants are responsible for acquiring their own Pinewood Derby starter kit from which to create their vehicle. We recommend purchasing through BSA—they have the best prices and excellent customer support.

Registrants are welcome to enter multiple cars, assuming they pay a registration fee per car. Registrants may be multiple people (a group) for a single car.

Car Specifications:

• Maximum width - 2-3/4"
• Maximum Length - 7"
• Maximum Weight - Not over 5 Ounces
• Minimum width between wheels - 1-3/4"
• Minimum bottom clearance underneath the body (so it does not rub on the track guide) - 3/8"

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for speed and design. Specifics TBA based on funds. Bare minimum—there will be custom trophies.
