Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament / Silent Prayer & Meditation
Event Information
About this Event
Lent is a time when Catholics prepare for Easter, the coming and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time of repentance, fasting, preparation, and reflection. We are preparing ourselves for Christ's ultimate sacrifice and for many it is a humbling time that serves as a reminder to cut out the noise and go back to the basics of what's important in our lives. During these 40 days, Catholics are called to fast, pray, and give. Catholics usually fast and abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and on Fridays. In addition, they are called to increase their prayer life, and also give something up or do something extra during these 40 days to commemorate Jesus' suffering before his death.
During Lent, Campus Ministry will be hosting Lenten Devotions on alternating Wednesdays and Mondays. All devotions will be livestreamed and may be attended in person by members of the Loyola community who are included in the COVID surveillance testing program. Registration is required for in-person attendance.
Join our community to engage in prayer and community during the Lenten season.
