Learn more about the open adoption process in this MULTI-session series. This workshop includes hearing guest speakers tell their unique perspectives and personal experience in open adoption and the ability to ask questions in a supportive environment.

Ready to dive into the world of open adoption? This 4-session workshop will provide the educational foundation for your infant adoption. Guest speakers include adoptive parents, birth parents and adult adoptees.

Adoptive parents gain community and connection with other families starting their adoption journeys.


Adoption Connection requires this series for all homestudy clients, or another similar open adoption educational workshop approved by the agency. Participants do not need to be current Adoption Connection clients to participate.

Dates:

This session meets on four Wednesdays: 9/27, 10/4, 10/11 and 10/18 from 7 - 9:30 pm. Attendance at all 4 dates is mandatory.

Topics:

  • Making the decision to adopt

  • Special issues in raising adopted children

  • Birthparent relationships

  • Understanding adoption from the perspective of adoptive parents, birthparents and the adult adoptee
