Description

Purpose:

The overall goal of this training is to provide information about adolescent brain development so that you can use this knowledge to inform your evidence-based prevention strategies.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify key characteristics of adolescent brain development

2. Describe how common substances affect the adolescent brain

3. Apply knowledge of adolescent brain development to evidence-based prevention strategies

Target Audience:

Prevention professionals including organizational leadership, coalition or council coordinators, community organizers, coalition members, and community members interested in comprehensive planning efforts

Additional Notes on the Agenda for the Day:

Following the Adolescent Brain Development training, the rest of the time will be used as a Learning Community opportunity to share how people are supporting youth resiliency through healthy coping and a strength-based perspective on adolescent development, with a specific focus on the programs and curriculum that are being utilized in the community.

Eagle River Youth Coalition will be providing lunch for all in attendance.


There is No Cost to attend this training.

You do Not have to be affiliated with an OBH funded entity to attend this training.
