Adobe & "Us"

Join us on Wednesday, April 24 for the next lacpug Meet.

We will welcome Karl Soule from Adobe who plans to show and tell the latest and greatest in Premiere Pro.

Also Editor/Director/Visual Artist Nicholas Monsour will make his first appearance at lacpug. We intend to talk to Nick about shaping the critically acclaimed movie, Us. Go see this movie if you haven't.

Plus Stump the Gurus and World Famous Raffle.

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus Patrick Southern, Michael Kammes, Somebody and TBA as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:25PM - 8:15PM - Updates for Adobe Audio and Video Tools - Karl Soule
The National Association of Broadcasters convention (NAB) is always full of new announcements and surprises. Join Karl Soule from Adobe as he covers all the new features available in Creative Cloud video and audio tools, including Content-Aware Fill in After Effects, Freeform panel in Premiere Pro, and Punch and Roll Recording in Audition. If you couldn’t attend NAB, this is a great opportunity to get up to speed on what’s included in the latest release. .

About Karl Soule
Karl Soule recently returned from 5 years living and working in Asia, growing the awareness and adoption of Adobe Premiere Pro in broadcasting and film. He’s now living and working in Culver City, covering the greater LA region to help adoption of Adobe Creative Cloud tools in the film industry.

This is the most important part of the show. It's networking time. This is a great opportunity to not only ask questions and get problems solved, but to meet people that just might change your life. Edit5 Consoles will be in lobby showing off Editing tables and chairs. It will be $1.00 Beer and really bad wine night once again. And FREE cookies.

8:45PM -9:45PM - Shaping "Us.". - Nicholas Monsour
Us is a horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele. The film has grossed over $182 million worldwide and received praise from critics for Peele's screenplay and direction, as well as for the musical score, acting and of course editing. We are going to talk about shaping this complex movie with editor Nicholas Monsour

About Nicholas Monsour
Nicholas Monsour is a film and television editor from Los Angeles, whose work includes the films Us and Keanu, and the television shows Key & Peele, The Twilight Zone, The Last O.G., Cobra Kai, Jean Claude Van Johnson, Whiskey Cavalier, Brockmire, Comrade Detective, Drunk History, and HBO’s Witness. He was nominated for an Emmy for Key & Peele (2016). He has also worked extensively in non-profit media and video editing.
Monsour received a BFA degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His sculptures, installations, performance and theater pieces, video art, and films have been exhibited in multiple cities in the United States and abroad. The feature film he wrote and directed, Oh My Soul, was an official selection at the 2009 Rotterdam International Film Festival. He has also worked as a graphic designer, theatrical set designer and book designer.
