Adobe InDesign for Designers

  An Adobe Authorized Certificate Course

This course is for those who want to design and deliver real world projects such as marketers, designers, and publishers, for the web and print with InDesign, the premiere layout and design program from Adobe.

Taught at the Orange County Photography Center where teachers are mentors, the instruction is hands on, a learning methodology that encourages you to learn InDesign by doing, not by watching prerecorded tutorials. You will begin with the basic concepts and then for the next three days, you will apply these and more advanced concepts to 6 different projects including a corporate identity package (letterhead and business card), an art poster, a professional newsletter, a full color brochure, an art show catalog and more.

The course emphasizes creative design approaches for issues such as style, branding, and communication values. You will learn via a step-by-step method for each of the assignments an approach that teaches proper workflow and is best practices method to master InDesign.

The classes are small so that you can ask questions, interact with your fellow students and your instructor is by your side providing hands on help that will guide you to create award winning print and interactive web publications.

Successful students who complete the class and the Metrics that Matter Survey, earn an Adobe Certificate of Achievement, which is employer recognized.

Taught by Bob Killen, an Adobe Certified Expert, an Adobe Certified Instructor, a nationally recognized fine art photographer and one of Adobe’s top rated instructors.

About Bob Killen:

Bob Killen is an editorial/fine art photographer, and Adobe Certified Instructor and Certified Photoshop Expert based in La Mirada, California. Encouragement and creative thinking are the hallmarks of Bob’s teaching style and many of his fine art students have moved their careers forward with their own gallery shows and publishing credits. His studio specializes in editorial fine art projects, marketing centered photojournalism support for corporate clients, corporate image artwork, task specific industrial and architectural assignments, and photo restoration services for historical images.

Desert Art collectors in twenty countries own Bob’s fine art images, and Bob consults for corporate art departments, and tutors photographers and graphic artists.  Killen’s credits cover numerous trade and professional magazines as well as Parade, Life, Look, Roto, and other rack publications.
