Adobe Illustrator for LASER PROTOTYPING
Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Daunted by Inkscape or the other tools you've been using to create files for our laser with?
Learn to work with the best vector tool for the job.
We'll cover a brief overview of the all tools in Adobe Illustrator (this will take about an hour) and then dive into best practices for creating files to be cut with our Epilog 35 watt laser, including tricks to get perfect joint fits for wood and acrylic, as well as perfect etching cuts from your generated files.
We'll also add an hour post class to diagnose individual problems you've been having with your files.
Requirements: Please come to class with a laptop, that has the trial of the latest Illustrator installed. (If you own an earlier version that's ok too-- most of the stuff will be the same).
We'll be teaching the class using the latest version of Adobe Illustrator (CS6) on Macintosh.
This class is taught by Astrida Valigorsky, a NYC Resistor member who has been using Illustrator since 1995.
Prerequisite for this class, our FIRE THE LAZZZOR class.
*** Please note, there will be one or two cuts on the laser performed in this class, but students will not have individual cut time***
