Adobe Illustrator 101: 3-Part Series
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics program. It may seem intimidating, but it is truly an awesome tool when you understand how it works. In this 3-part series for beginners, you’ll get accustomed to the software, learn basic tools and functions, gain basic composition skills and create custom illustrations and designs.
Session 1: Get an introduction to the interface, tools, and functionality
Saturday, Jan 30th | 1pm - 3pm
In this class you’ll learn:
- What Illustrator is and what you can create with it
- How to navigate within the software
- An overview of file setup, basic tools, and techniques
Session 2: Discover more tools, learn essential techniques, create a custom illustration
Saturday, Feb 6th | 1pm - 3pm
In this class we will:
- Review the workspace
- Discover more tools and techniques
- Learn how to work with basic shapes and text boxes
- Create our own awesome illustration
Session 3: Learn layout principles, create your own custom designs
Saturday, Feb 13th | 1pm - 3pm
In this class you’ll:
- Learn layout principles
- Create a simple logo
- Create a simple social media flyer
Prerequisites
* Basic knowledge using a computer and Zoom technology
* Adobe Illustrator software. Don’t have Adobe Illustrator? No worries, you can download a free 14-day trial to utilize for part of the class.
