Event description
This workshop coincides with On Loop - a site-specific installation by Universal at A/D/O by MINI. On view through Oct 31.

About this Event

Inspired by the game of exquisite corpse and the cyclical nature of fermentation, this workshop led by Emilie Baltz is a generative pickling exercise. Participants will learn the basics of fermentation and leave with a jar of co-created pickles made of each others best (and worst) memories. Connected to On Loop’s spotlight on the iterative and collective design process, we will explore the chemical and metaphorical properties of fermenting, while diving deep into how our own personal narratives might build upon each others to reveal new life.

Each guest is required to bring their most (and least!) favorite food* to share. Additional pickling supplies included in ticket price. Workshop guidelines will be shared with each attendee before the event.

...Fermentation is the action of life upon death; living organisms consume dead plant and animal matter, in the process freeing nutrients for the further sustenance of life.” Sandor Ellix Katz, Wild Fermentation.

*Allergies can unfortunately not be accommodated.
