Event description

Description

On behalf of Secretary Anthony Foxx, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), together with the St. Louis Regional Freightway invite you to participate in an Administrators’ Beyond Traffic Roundtable with FHWA Administrator Gregory G. Nadeau to discuss issues related to the freight economy. FHWA is holding regional, policy-specific roundtables with state and local transportation representatives, the business community, safety and environmental advocates, and freight stakeholders. The roundtables are a platform to discuss national, state and local freight economic opportunities and impacts, including elements of national and state freight plans and related performance measures. This is an opportunity to share ideas, insights and experience to improve freight movement nationally and in this region.

About the FHWA Administrator:

Gregory G. Nadeau was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate to serve as the nation’s 19th Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Prior to becoming Administrator, Nadeau had served as Deputy Administrator since 2009, where he directed the development and administration of the Agency’s “Every Day Counts” (EDC) innovation partnership with the states. As Administrator, Nadeau oversees the $43 billion Federal-aid Highway program, which supports State and local governments in the design, construction, and maintenance of the Nation’s highway system. He is also charged with implementing the highway portions of the recently-enacted “Fixing America’s Surface Transportation” (or “FAST”) Act – including a new freight program. Nadeau hails from Maine, where he served as deputy commissioner at the Maine Department of Transportation, the senior policy advisor to former Governor Angus King, and served in the Maine House of Representatives for 12 years.

Space is limited and the Administrators’ Beyond Traffic Roundtable on the Freight Economy is by invitation only.
