Participants will: become familiar with the terminology and design of NGSS documentation and develop an understanding of Performance Expectations, Cross Cutting Concepts, Science and Engineering Practices, and Disciplinary Core Ideas, be able to compare the description of NGSS classroom to that of an effective classroom as described by IL Math and ELA and the Danielson Framework, reflect on the challenges and successes they have encountered with the implementation of ILS Math and ELA, brainstorm effective implementation of ILS-Science (NGSS), and come up with possible solutions and supports for a variety of situations and stakeholders (including teachers). Individually develop an action plan for implementing and supporting teachers as they work to apply ILS-Science (NGSS).
