Sunday September 24: Silver Lake

Note: We have some warm weather concerns ( 87 degrees, no wind and sunny) with climbing at Silver Lake especially Potter mountain as that cliff has no shade. All of the cliffs face the sun but we can manage climbing first pitch stuff in the shade at the center tour and left side tour. Who would have thought it be this warm after the cold summer we just had?

Meet at the Wilmington Youth Center - 1 Park Lane, Wilmington NY, 12997.

8:00 am Meet at Wilmington Youth Center/Registration
8:30 am Split into groups:
Right Side Tour - Potter Mountain - Might be cancelled as Potter will be Hotter...
Center Tour - Summit Cliff and Center of Progress
Left Side Tour - C Chimney and Mud Pond
8:45 am Depart for tours
9:00am-5:00pm- Tour De Silver Lake

More info can be found here:https://www.facebook.com/Adirondack-Rock-Climbing-Rendezvo…/

You can also pre register to the link above for the Poko Gathering or Silver Lake Tour though feel free to just show up. We would love to have you!

For the tour of Silver Lake I would like to front load that each cliff has approximately a 45 minute approach. The routes are generally on the harder end of the spectrum ( 5.9-5.11 ) There are a few easier routes, but not many. The local climbers who are graciously volunteering for this tour have been tasked with: giving route suggestions, helping you get to the cliff, provide route beta and info, and maybe help partner people up. They have not been asked to guide people up routes.

September 24 - Tour de Silver Lake..... Come and join local climbers on three different tours of Silver Lake! Note: Must be able to lead or at least follow 5.9-5.10. Yes there are a few easy climbs at Silver Lake, but 5.8 you have very limited options.
