Brain Function, Impulsivity, Gambling as an "Addiction"

Presenter: Dr. David Ledgerwood, PhD

Dr. Ledgerwood is Associate Professor and a clinical psychologist within the Substance Abuse Research Division in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. His work focuses on the treatment and etiology of substance use and behavioral addiction disorders. He is also internationally recognized as an expert in the study of gambling disorder. He has published several articles on problem gambling focusing on co-occurring psychopathology, impulse control, executive function, treatment outreach, and treatment effectiveness.

The Arizona Division of Problem Gambling provides ongoing trainings on the current developments, skills, procedures and treatment modalities related to the practice of treating problem gambling.
