Insurance and Divorce
When a divorce agreement specifies child support and/or alimony, it will usually also specify life insurance to cover the eventuality that the payor might pass away before his or her obligations are fulfilled. The divorce agreement may specify coverage, ownership, what type of insurance to use. However, many of the implementation details will be left to the parties.
In this interactive discussion we will cover financial planning best practices with respect to insurance in divorce. We will address all aspect of the insurance decision in divorce: whether to use existing policies; who should be the owner, who should pay the premiums, and other factors.
