Event description
Trauma impacts the ability to regulate emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Mindfulness can help!

About this Event

Join us as we learn how mindfulness can be used to address trauma-related symptoms. Trauma impacts the ability to regulate emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Mindfulness addresses the areas of the brain in which this dysfunction originates. It can be incorporated in therapeutic and non- therapeutic ways that support you and those you know who continue to be impacted by early exposure to adverse events.

Training Facilitated by: Leslie Anway - Leslie is a nationally certified school psychologist who just completed her Psy.D. degree. She is a certified clinical trauma specialist. She was a high school teacher prior to obtaining her graduate degrees in psychology. Leslie has been a staunch advocate of mental health awareness in the schools and has provided numerous trainings on both mindfulness and trauma-sensitive practices in the school and community settings. Amongst other things, Leslie’s research has examined the use of mindful meditation as a trauma-informed strategy on a school wide basis.

The SATIN trainings are hosted at GAP Ministries on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 12:00- 2:00PM. Registration is FREE. Please check out eventbrite page for more events.
