Training Description:

In this session, Ms. Genaux will cover strategies for effectively managing severe student behavior including elopement, physical aggression toward others and objects, and self-injury. Participants will learn about research-based techniques for preventing these behaviors, replacing the behaviors with more appropriate and adaptive alternatives, eliminating common errors in the design of reinforcement systems, and utilizing reductive procedures. In addition, Ms. Genaux will provide strategies for addressing the safety and supervision of students and their peers as behavior intervention plans are developed and implemented.

Training Objectives:

Participants will learn:

  • Strategies for effectively managing severe behaviors.
  • Strategies for preventing, replacing, and eliminating problem behaviors.
  • How to safely supervise students with behaviors in the classroom setting.
