Event Details

Hi Everyone!

The Understanding Medical Debt webinar offered by Bay Area Legal Aid will give a  uniquely comprehensive explanation of medical debt from the perspective of both health access and consumer rights.

A public benefits attorney will explain the rights of consumers and patients to access Charity Care and will also go into depth explaining Medi-Cal and other county-based insurance programs for low-income and indigent patients. Healthcare consumers also face problems from old and unresolved medical debt.

The consumer law portion of the webinar will explain the rights of consumers to be free from abusive debt collection activities and explain the options available to resolve old medical debt, including the impact of various options on a consumer's credit history.
