Event description

Description

The Texas A&M Master of Health Administration students and faculty invite you to join us to discuss how different organizations are addressing health disparities in patient populations. Almost every journal now has an article addressing improvements in the quality of care, but noting that health disparities remain.

Speakers:

Philip Robinson, President and CEO of Lankenau Medical Center, Wynnewood, PA,

Jorge Leal, Chief Operating Officer, Laredo Medical Center, Laredo, TX,

Ashleigh Wiswell, Chief Operating Officer, Moore County Hospital District, Dumas, TX,

Alva Ferdinand, PhD, JD, Assistant Professor, TAMU SPH, College Station, TX,

10:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017 in College Station, TX

These disparities are seen in data addressing race, ethnicity, gender, geography economics, access, fresh food and other social determinants of health. How do these health equity factors contribute to less than ideal outcomes? How can leaders provide some of their resources to address these issues?

Join us to hear from the practitioners and learn of a recent research project addressing these very determinants with some amazing results.
