Description

This session introduces participants to the systemic nature of disproportionality and how the issue relates to complex interactions between policies, practices and beliefs. The session will focus on critically understanding how IDEA legislation, disproportionality, equity, cultural responsiveness, and the Self Review Process intersect with efforts to address disproportionate outcomes. Participants should bring their district’s citation letter, 2016-17 discipline, classification and placement data, codes of conduct, CSE referral forms, and discipline referral forms to the session.

Target Audience: District and Building Administrators, K-12 Regular/Special Education Teachers, PBIS Teams, Social Workers, Psychologist, School Counselors.

**We highly encourage participants to attend with teams from your district. Since these sessions are conducted in a series and build on each other, it will be important that the same team members attend each session. **

Registration: 8:30– 9:00 am; Workshop: 9:00am – 3:00pm **Lunch on your own.
