About this event
Registration: 8:30 a.m.; Program Starts: 9:00 a.m.
This daylong training will provide background information on the consequences of substances commonly used by individuals and will introduce participants to the epidemiology, prevalence, and neurobiology of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders across the lifespan. Participants will also learn about screening, assessment and diagnosis of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, and how to develop behavioral intervention strategies for those with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and chronic medical conditions that frequently co-occur with substance use and mental health issues. The training will also cover treatment considerations, planning, and an overview of ESP interventions, including DDMI, DDCBT, Medication Assisted Treatments, and integrated behavioral health interventions. By participating in this training, service providers will learn techniques to work more effectively with individuals presenting with co-occurring disorders.
CEU's will be provided for psychologists, registered nurses, LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, LEPs, and certified alcohol and drug counselors.
This is an evidenced-based training by UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP).
