Event description

Description

As you know, each day 192 families experience the loss of a loved one due to a drug overdose. In 2017, to honor these individuals, and their families, the Addiction Policy Forum Families Committee announced a National Day of Remembrance and held events in participating communities throughout the country.

On January 27, 2019, we invite you to join the Addiction Policy Forum's Massachusetts State Chapter for our THIRD ANNUAL NIGHT OF REMEMBRANCE.

Please join us for an ecumenical healing service & candlelight vigil and community dinner to honor loved ones who have lost their battle with Substance Use Disorder.

We are beyond excited to announce that this year's speakers will include Susan Silva (Director EB Hope), Maureen Cavanaugh (author, "If You Love Me: A Mother's Journey Through Her Daughter's Opioid Addiction" /founder of Magnolia New Beginnings) and Ed Jacoubs (Plymouth County DA's Office)

26 million Americans live in active addiction and only 1 in 10 receive treatment. We MUST, and CAN, do better to support members of our community struggling with SUD and their families.

To learn more about our community’s Night of Remembrance event and/or to find out what resources are available for families, contact Aimee D’Arpino, Sr. Director of State Chapters, Addiction Policy Forum at 202-868-0683 or via email aimee@addictionpolicy.org.
