Event description
NEW Virtual Visits, tour our Midtown Manhattan workshop and experience our community and design in a whole new way with your classes today!

About this Event

We can't say enough about how much the school year has changed and how so many of us have rallied to ensure students still have ample opportunities for meaningful learning experiences during Covid-19. We commend you, and we are here for you.

Today Adaptive Design offers new Virtual Visit opportunities for all age groups to tour our unique Midtown workshop. In each visit, classes have the chance to meet with our skilled staff of designers and fabricators, therapists, or educators. Students will engage in discussions around inclusion, person-centered design, accessibility, creativity, and cardboard carpentry. Learn the importance of basic building techniques like measuring, cutting, bending, scoring, assembly. Explore how local and recyclable materials can become chairs, tables, easels, footrests, etc.

Adaptive Design's Virtual Visits are designed with YOU and YOUR classrooms in mind. If you’re an educator thinking of a 1.5-hour activity that will explore the topics of accessibility, inclusion, art, science, engineering, consider signing up for a Virtual Visit at ADA.

Please feel free to contact us at tamara@adaptivedesign.org for scheduling and if you have any questions.
