Event description

Description

There is much discussion about a move to outcomes and results among government, philanthropy and community leaders. The voice and involvement of the country’s community-based service providers is critical to a shift towards outcomes yet is often not present enough in these discussions. Nonprofit Finance Fund, a long-time financial intermediary and advisor to nonprofits in communities across the country, invites the leaders of nonprofits to participate in a unique, day-long session to discuss key elements and consequences of an outcomes-based system, to bolster the capacity of nonprofit organizations to operate and thrive in an increasingly outcomes-oriented environment, and to explore the larger systemic infrastructure required to implement meaningful change in the community. The training program will include the following key topics:

  • Overview of Outcomes Driven Landscape
  • Operating in a Flawed System and Building Adaptive Capacity
  • Intellectual Capital: Are we collecting data and building a performance management culture to assess the work we do and the outcomes we want to see?
  • Financial Capital: Do we have the financial health, capitalization and planning capabilities?
  • Human & Social Capital: Do we have the resources we need to effectively deliver, adapt and perhaps grow our programs? Are we prepared to partner with others in the community to amplify results?

This will be an interactive, day-long session designed specifically for nonprofit service providers. Time will be reserved for organizations to work in teams to both assess current strengths and development needs as it pertains to participation in an outcomes-based environment. Organizations will have an opportunity to also develop a roadmap/action plan to move forward in the competencies discussed.

This training is intended for the leadership of the organization, including the Executive Director, COO/CFO, Program Director and Board. We encourage each organization to bring two people from their leadership team, which will maximize your time during breakout sessions.
