Event description

Description

In collaboration with the Cleveland & Woodley Park Village, CPHS presents the first of a series of programs on adapting older and historic houses for accessibility as we age.

Join us at 10 am on Tuesday, March 6th to visit a CPHS member’s house to see accessibility modifications and discuss possibilities for interior modifications in older houses. Light refreshments will be served.

We will email you with the event address after you register. The home is in the western part of Cleveland Park. Street parking is readily available and the home is fully wheelchair-accessible.

If the weather is nice, after the indoor discussion and refreshments, CPHS Executive Director Carin Ruff will lead a short walking tour of nearby houses (within a block, on level ground) to see exterior modifications for accessibility that have been approved since the Cleveland Park Historic District was created.

The event is free but registration is limited to 15 participants because of space considerations. We will keep a waiting list, so do add your name if you find the event is already full. We plan to repeat this program in the future if there is sufficient interest.

Participation is limited to members of the Cleveland Park Historical Society or Cleveland & Woodley Park Village. (You can join CPHS online or bring a membership check to the event if you have not yet joined or renewed for 2018.)

Questions? Email Carin Ruff at staff@clevelandparkhistoricalsociety.org.
