Description

Culture shock is real for plants! Come and learn about grasses suitable for lawns, ornamental grasses, shrubs and trees adaptable to our semi arid climate. There are many beautiful plants that love to call Colorado home! Critical for getting plants established, also learn some efficient ways to irrigate that results in a beautiful landscape saving water and money!

Plant Teacher: Lisa Pace is a landscape designer and the Senior Water Conservation Specialist for Colorado Springs Utilities. She started her career as a landscape designer/contractor and after fourteen years, realized her passion was to educate others on how to have a beautiful sustainable landscape. She uses her gardening enthusiasm to create, manage, and teach various water conservation programs. In her spare time, she chases after two little kids and not so little husband.

Irrigation Teacher: Lance Ackerman, Conservation Specialist Water Conservation for Colorado Springs Utilities, is a native to Colorado Springs. Lance has been in the landscape/irrigation industry for 10 years. Lance received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture concentrated in landscape design & contracting from Colorado State University. Prior to his time at Colorado Springs Utilities he owned a small landscape design build company and managed all irrigation at the UCCS campus in Colorado Springs.
