Event description

Description

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”

Is your child successful in physical education? • Does your child willingly participate in daily physical activity after school and on the weekends? • Does your child love to move and play physical games with friends? • Is your child confident in moving, throwing, catching and balancing? • Do you understand Adapted PE?

Adapted Physical Education is physical education specifically designed to support the motor development of students that are not successful in general physical education. Federal law mandates that physical education be provided to students with disabilities and defines Physical Education as the development of physical and motor skills, fundamental motor skills and patterns, and skills in aquatics, dance, and individual and group games and sports.

Join us as we welcome Jo Lansdown, MS, NBCT, as he gives a combined presentation with activity to describe how an active lifestyle is achievable and necessary for all our students. Topics covered will include:

• Path of lifelong fitness for students with disabilities
• Inclusion
• Qualification criteria, implementation, and graduation
• Sample activities
• Connecting parents to accessible activities in the community

Free childcare and Spanish translation can be reserved by RSVP.

RSVP by Wednesday, January 17th.
