OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Eric Westman, MD - (co-founder of Adapt Your Life) is a practicing clinician, a #1 NYT best-selling author, and an internationally recognized leader, speaker, educator, and advocate in his field. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University Health System and the Director of the Duke Lifestyle Medical Clinic. Dr Westman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, and has a Master’s Degree in clinical research, with over 90 peer-reviewed publications to his name.

He is the Past President of the Obesity Medicine Association and a Fellow of the Obesity Society. In 2010, he was named the Obesity Medicine Association “Bariatrician of the Year” for his work in advancing the field of obesity medicine as well as the Society. He is also a recipient of the Society’s Steelman-Seim Educator Award for advancing the cause of health care through education and teaching. Dr Westman graduated from Stanford University (A.B.), University of Wisconsin (M.D.), University of Kentucky, and Duke University. He has dedicated his life to helping patients with various medical conditions such as Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, Obesity, Hypertension, and many others through diet and lifestyle choices.

Michael Garrett, MD is a family medicine doctor in Austin, Texas and is affiliated with Hospital at Westlake Medical Center. He received his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1997, and completed residency in Family Medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital in 2000. After 14 years of Emergency Medicine, he opened Direct MD Austin, a full service direct primary care practice. He is a founding member of the DPC Alliance, and has been using low-carb and ketogenic diets for years to reverse metabolic diseases and optimize health.

Ali Miller, RD, LD, CDE is an integrative functional medicine practitioner with a background in naturopathic medicine. Cynthia Miller, RN - (AKA "Ask Nurse Cindy") has been a Registered Nurse since 1978. For the first 14 years of her career, she worked in operating rooms and various ICUs. She then spent the next 26 years specializing in research and innovation in wound care and is currently employed full time by one of the largest wound care companies in the world.

Cindy’s inquisitive mind led her to the discovery that nutrition plays a VITAL role and is the key to one’s health. What should I bring to the event?

A pen, notepad and your cellphone to take awesome pics of your new friends. You are permitted to bring your own lunch to the event should you wish to do so.

How do I contact the organizer with any questions?

What is your refund policy?

We are able to issue you with a full refund up to 7 days prior to the event. After which we cannot refund your ticket.

Do I need to bring my printed ticket to the event?

If you purchased lunch, then yes, that would be helpful as you will receive a lunch ticket at registration.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, that would be no problem, just let us know when you get to registration.

Can I volunteer to help with whatever's needed on the day of the event?

Absolutely! Please send your request to Liza Becker, liza@adaptyourlife.com. We will let you know whether we need more help.

Can I purchase a ticket at the door on event day?

If we have availability, then yes, however it would be advisable to email us a few days prior to arrival to check availability. We have a limited capacity due to fire code. Kindly bring cash if paying at the door.

Where should I park?

The Norris Center has plenty of available parking, so there shouldn't be a problem finding a parking spot.
