Event description

Description

The NEMT is holding an event in recognition of the enormous contribution of Dr Adam Watson to science and conservation in the mountain environment of North East Scotland. Widely regarded as the leading authority on the ecology of the Cairngorms for many years, his knowledge, experience and generosity provided invaluable assets to the NEMT’s work.

Following an introduction and short video, we present the main lecture from our invited speaker:

What now for The Living Mountain?

"The Scottish Government have declared a climate emergency, with the aim to take us to net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. What will this mean for land use in the second largest National Park in Europe?"

Will Boyd-Wallis (Head of Land Management & Conservation, Cairngorms National Park Authority)

Tea and coffee will be served from 7 pm, with the talk starting at 7:30 pm

Entrance to the James Hutton Institute is from Macaulay Drive, off Countesswells Road. Parking will be available.
