Event Details

Come be a part of a new generation of leadership in the Episcopal Church as we pray, work, and grow into the leadership of a missionary church. Within the beautiful surroundings of the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, we will build on the momentum of spontaneous gatherings that started in the summer of 2012. They created a movement that has since spread around the country.

Acts 8 seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the creative renewal of the Episcopal Church. We take our inspiration from the church’s great historic missionary societies, but with a greater flair for modern communications. 

Our movement is not yet fully formed. At this mission gathering, we aim to more clearly discern our specific mission and determine what we are uniquely called to do. Discernment sessions will be interspersed with workshops on missionary prayer, reinvigorating existing communities, and planting new church entities. And of course, plenty of time for prayer and community building.

Lay and clergy participation is encouraged.

Prior involvement in Acts 8 is not required or expected.

 

Please Note:

 

  • While we are offering rooms for out-of-town arrivals on Sunday night, our schedule will begin on Monday morning. A final schedule will be posted soon.
     
  • All Payments for the gathering are being processed by Saint John's Episcopal Church ("The Rector, Wardens, and Vestry of Saint John's Episcopal Church, Fort Hamilton") on PayPal. 

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

What is the schedule for the Mission Gathering?

While we are offering rooms for out-of-town arrivals on Sunday night, we will begin in earnest on Monday morning. A final schedule will be posted soon.

 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

For those flying in from across the country, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is located approximately 14 miles from the Franciscan Renewal Center. 

SuperShuttle, a shared-ride van service) provides service from PHX to the Renewal Center for roughly $25. Reservations should be made in advance at supershuttle.com.

Ample parking is available on site for those who wish to drive to the center, or who may wish to rent a car at PHX.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes. You can transfer a registration to another person should you be unable to attend. Please contact David at dsibley@me.com to inform him of any registration changes.

 

Can I update my registration information?

What is the refund policy?

We can offer refunds up until April 7, 2013. Beyond that date, all registrations are final and non-refundable.
