Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 - Session #1 - (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

This session will include * The Professional Actor in the Digital Age * Using the Internet Effectively * Success in Your Local Career * Casting Directors * Agents and Managers * Unions * Your picture, resume and demo reel * Knowing Your Type * Special Skills * Training * What to do before you make your move * Avoiding Scams * Do's and Don'ts * Q&A with the Instructor.

Sunday, December 4th, 2016 - Session #2 - (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Audition Technique and Acting Workshop: This workshop will help each actor improve their audition and interview technique. All actors will have the opportunity to read in a mock audition and will be given specific notes to help them improve their audition and acting technique. Ms McBryde will explain the auditioning process from the casting director's point of view, and teach you how to successfully navigate the complicated maze of auditions.

Topics covered will include:* Beginning a successful audition the moment you walk in the door * Connecting to your Character * Mastering pre-reads, cold readings and screen tests * Handling self-taped auditions * Staying relaxed and confident * Avoiding common mistakes * Handling awkward situations * Eliminating nervous habits * Follow-ups - handling feedback and callbacks * And much more! Class size for this session is limited. In the event the call fills beyond the limit, the workshop may = be extended to 9:00 pm to allow for up to three additional students.


Instructor: Alison McBryde has been teaching and coaching for over 15 years. Her current and past students have had lead and featured roles in numerous movies including: "Lee Daniel's The Butler," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Steve Jobs," "The Lovely Bones," and "Miami Vice." They have appeared as series regulars, recurring and guest starring role in television series, which include: "Blue Bloods," "Turn: Washington's Spies," "Gotham," "Grey's Anatomy," "The Blacklist," and "Law & Order: SVU."

Ms. McBryde has worked as a Casting Director and Associate for over 20 years on film and television projects such as "Crave," "The Island," "Nicholas Nickleby," "Pearl Harbor," "Heat," "Ali," "Armageddon," "The Insider," and CBS’ series "Robbery Homicide Division." She also was Head of Casting for RLTV Network. Along the way, she has worked with top filmmakers and actors including Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Mann, Robert Redford and Al Pacino.
