Description

Sigma Alpha Mu and Sigma Chi Fraternities are hosting ActNow, a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Event. This event is to educate individuals on how they can be a part of preventing future suicides by gaining knowledge and resources of how to help a friend in need or themself.

Speakers will include Abid Raja, an RIT Student, Board Member for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Kristina Mossgraber, member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Dr. David Reetz, Director of RIT Counseling Center, Karen Heisig.

Doors will open at 2:45 for the event, at the beginning of the third period for the RIT's Division 1 Women's Hockey game. There will be a silent auction and giveaway during the Women's hockey game and event. Drinks will be provided during the event.

What is the advantage to pre-registering?

By pre-registering, your ticket will allow you to receive a free giveaway ticket upon check-in the day of our event as well as a free ticket to the RIT's Division 1 Women's Hockey game at 1:05pm.

Can I reserve seats for a group?

Yes, for groups of 10 or more, pick group upon checkout and have each member join your group. You will have reserved seats together the day of the event. Please email the event organizer at actnow.suicideawareness@gmail.com to ensure you will have a reserved area.
