Active Learning Strategies in Small Group Contexts - Brown Bag
Friday, January 24, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (CST)
Are you interested in learning more ways to make the most of your time in the classroom? With the challenges of teaching on the quarter system, every class meeting is a critical opportunity for students to be active participants in their own learning. While lectures allow instructors to present material efficiently, this pedagogical method should be used in conjunction with active learning strategies. At this hands-on workshop, we will model a range of cooperative small group classroom activities that can be applied across disciplines and class sizes and help students engage more deeply with course content.
Presented by Lauri Dietz (UCWbL) and Daniel Makagon (Communication)
