Research over the last decade is solid: students in quantitative courses learn more when the class period frequently has them actively involved in the material, rather than spending the majority of class time listening and writing notes. But some activities are better than others, so what kinds of activities are most effective? How do instructors plan the class agenda? What do you do about lost time for content? This workshop offers a plethora of strategies to consider, plus time for actual planning and creation of effective activities.
