Description

Philadelphia Acting Bureau is proud to kick off the 2017 Summer Workshop season off with our first series of classes that started during the month of May and will run throughout the year. The session(s) for all of the courses offered are 3hrs (6:30pm - 9:30pm) and will run at the same time slot throughout the year unless otherwised resceduled by instructor.

Mr.John Canada Terrell, Lead Instructor, will be teaching "Dialogue & Behavior", an Acting Techniques Master's Class that will require an entrance audition. Mr. Terrell will delve deep into the actor to help them explore their character's meaning, objective, and help them navigate through the myriad of sub-contextual layers and emotions that must be cultivated to let any performance shine through. This course is considered an Advanced Master's Class for the experienced/seasoned performer.

Mr.Chris Mann will be teaching "Character/Monologue and Scene Study' course that is designed to help develop the intense focus needed for character roles. Mr. Mann will utilize exercises dealing with the camera and subtle nuiances that help an actor to prepare for what will be required to obtain/maintain the focus needed, as an actor and the character, simultaneously. This course is designed to give the attendee the needed skills to build strong characterization creation mechanisms within the performer through exercises for muscle memory, memorization, physicality, and timing.

Mr.Derrick Brown will be teaching the "On-Camera Commercial Audition Technique" course that prepares attendees for the world of commercial auditioning. Mr. Brown uses real-life scenarios and commercial copy to help build-up the attendees skill-set to be ready for any type of audition (TV/Film, VO, Industrial, Theatrical). The course primarily deals with Students On-Camera presence and how to maximize yourself within those parameters. The course will have training exercises that will increase the attendees 'cold read' aptitude, speech, tonality, on-camera movement, and will also teach attendees how to read from a teleprompter/cue card. After this course, you will have the tools needed to Stand-out from the rest.

All Course(s) will have: video recorded exercises for critique/adjusting; monologue delivery; warm-up exercises; individual/doubles scene work just to name a few. Commercial copy/Scripts/Monologues will be provided for all courses. Attendees have the option of the following choices for class particiaption:

Six (6) Classes = $300.00

Twelve (12) Classes = $600.00

Bureau Smorgasbord Package: Attend three (3) sessions of each course offered at PAB = *$450.00 for 9 sessions

We also offer an individual class rate, called a "POP-IN", at a rate of $60.00 for those that just attend one class.

We encourage you to bring monologues that you have/want to develop into your repertoire, however, copy will be provided for all students to work through class exercises.

Students will have the ability to attend classes up to two (2) days a week
