Event description
A once in an 8 year opportunity for YOU to make a difference in addressing homelessness!

About this event

Did you know that California State Law requires each Orange County city to update their Housing Element Plan every eight years? This year is the year for this to happen! The work is already underway and it’s a perfect time for community members to get involved and make a difference and help set us on a better course for the future.

Join us for a crash course to break down the process and learn how you can help!

  • What is the Housing Element and why is it important?
  • Where is your city at in the process?
  • What YOU can do to advocate for solutions to address homelessness and housing affordability and more!

You will leave with a better understanding of why this matters and will be equipped with simple tools to make a difference – we hope to see you there!

Featured speakers include:

  • Cesar Covarrubias, Executive Director, The Kennedy Commission
  • Elizabeth Hansburg, Executive Director, People for Housing Orange County
  • Barry Ross, Regional Director, PRovidence St. Joseph Health, Southern Californ ia
  • Becks Heyhoe, Executive Director, United to End Homelessness

This event is hosted in collaboration with The Kennedy Commission, People for Housing Orange County, Providence St. Joseph Health| Southern California.

Organizer United to End Homelessness

Organizer of Act Now to Impact Your City: A Housing Element Workshop

The United to End Homelessness initiative, empowered by United Way, is a powerful collaboration between Orange County’s top business, philanthropic, governmental, faith-based and non-profit leaders. It also depends on caring residents like you who agree that we must act now if we are to end our community’s homeless crisis. We are all working together to create long-term supportive housing to do more for those most in need.

Our Mission:

United to End Homelessness is committed to reducing homelessness in Orange County to functional zero. This means that there will be services and housing available for every individual who may need them. We complement the work of the Orange County Commission to End Homelessness and Continuum of Care Board.
