What is ACSI YIS Hack 2020| Solve challenges you face in your daily lives in 48 hours! Team up with smart, passionate students across all levels to brainstorm, validate your ideas and create innovative solutions that might be adopted by renowned partners! Start off by ideating and building your strategic team. Next, start working on your idea and formulating a plan to develop. Finally, create a slide deck and present it to the judges!

a. What is ACSI YIS Hack 2020?

ACSI YIS Hack 2020 is a 2 day hackathon, where up to 300 participants will get the opportunity to come together in ACSI to ideate, hack, design and develop solutions for our FUTURE!

Participants can look forward to team formation, brainstorming sessions, workshops, and mock pitches during the 2 day hackathon. ACSI YIS Hack 2020 will culminate in a pitch presentation to the Senior Admin.

b. Who can participate in ACSI YIS Hack 2020?

ACSI Hack is for innovators, budding entrepreneurs and change-makers who are just starting out and testing ideas! We welcome participants of students from Years 1-6, as long as you are passionate about designing smart and sustainable solutions for Heartlands of Tomorrow. ACSI YIS Hack thrive on diversity and we want the community to come together to solve challenges for better living in the future.

c. What is the cost to attend ACSI YIS Hack 2020?

ACSI YIS Hack 2020 is a non-chargeable event. If you are interested in attending the ACSI YIS Hack 2020, simply register for your ticket on Eventbrite.

d. Do I need an idea to join ACSI YIS Hack 2020?

No, you don’t. ACSI YIS Hack 2020 offers the opportunity for participants to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and develop ideas collectively.

If you have been researching an idea with a team, you can still sign up to participate in ACSI YIS Hack 2020.

We actively encourage all participants to keep an open mind and work with other innovators to explore great ideas.

e . What role can I play during ACSI YIS Hack 2020?

We are looking for participants that fall under the following categories:

Strategist: Individuals who are resourceful and strong communicators.

Developer: Individuals with coding and programming expertise, who can build tech and software prototypes.

Designer: Individuals with design skills and strong sense of aesthetics, who can execute UI/UX design, and create user-centric products.

f. How many team members can I have?

Teams are limited to a minimum of 2 participants and maximum number of 5 participants. Ideally, the team should comprise a mix of Strategist, Developer and Designer for cross-pollination of ideas.

Any team that does not fulfil the team members criteria may be disqualified.

g. When and where will the ACSI YIS Hack 2020 be held?

ACSI YIS Hack 2020 is held at ACSI after the end of year exams

l. What will the teams be judged on during the presentation?

Teams will also be evaluated based on these 3 elements: Validation, Execution and Design & Innovation
