Event description

Description

Pace are inviting professionals to take part in the pilot of our brand new qualification, the Advanced CSE Practitioner (ACSEP). As the course is still going through the accreditation process with the NOCN, places on this pilot are less than half the price of the full price course, due to start in September 2017.

Informed by over 21 years of working with affected families, the ACSEP course will be taught by highly experienced Pace staff, affected parents and leading experts from the fields of social work, police and academia.

The course will cover:

  • The latest research on trauma
  • Best practice in working with marginalised groups
  • Cutting edge practical skills in how to support affected families from disclosure through to the court process
  • Training in therapeutic and reflective practice.

ACSEPs will be specialists in their field, equipped with a broad knowledge of CSE and armed with a toolkit of methods in supporting affected families and helping investigations through to prosecution.

The course is a 9 day commitment, spread over three blocks of three days. The course will run from the Pace office in Leeds on the following dates:

23rd - 25th May – Module one (Working with affected families)

20th - 22nd June - Module two (Understanding trauma and supporting families through the criminal justice system)

18th - 20th July – Module three (Multi agency working and online exploitation)

Candidates will be assessed through a mixture of presentations, online assessments and assignments. There will be a reading list sent out prior to the course start date.

All those who pass the course will be invited to join our Register of ACSEPs and will benefit from ongoing support and information from Pace.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided on each day, however candidates will need to make their own overnight accommodation arrangements if needed.

The course is aimed at professionals with experience of working in CSE, in roles such as:

  • Social worker

  • Independent CSE Worker
  • Missing from Home Specialist
  • PSCOs/PCs with CSE specialism
