Acrylic Workshop: Using Acrylics like Oil
Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (PDT)
Los Angeles, CA
This workshop is a formal introduction to OPEN, the newest paint system from GOLDEN Artist Colors. OPEN and OPEN mediums have a unique set of relaxed working properties that allow them to stay workable for hours and days, allowing artists to practice a variety of techniques that are familiar to oil painters, such as smooth blending, soft edges, glazing, subtractive painting, fine detail work, print-making and more! Discover the range of possibilities as we combine and layer OPEN paints with traditional acrylic paints, gels and grounds. Learn how to develop your acrylic painting skills, control drying time and, most importantly, be inspired with this new paint! We will create few small paintings with several different techniques so that you go home with a good working knowledge of OPEN!
All acrylic materials will be provided by Golden Artist Colors and workshop-use brushes, tools and supports will be provided by me. Please bring a paint smock, supplies to take notes, and a box to transport your projects (at least 9x12 inches in size)
After you are registered, I will send a confirmation email with additional class info and instructions.
