Theme: We Can Work It Out – Practices, Tools and Stories for Helping Parties Bridge the Divide Over Knowledge and Beliefs.

Dates: June 13th and 14th, plus Pre-Conference Training Day on June 12th

Location: George Mason University Arlington campus (outside of Washington, D.C.)

This year we are excited about being hosted by the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (S-CAR) at George Mason University (GMU) in Arlington, VA. Our Pre-Conference trainings will be held at the GMU S-CAR’s beautiful and unique retreat facility, Point of View.

Our theme this year is about different ways of “knowing” when parties are in dispute over environmental and resource management issues.

Details

The 2018 Conference is 2 days at the GMU S-CAR campus at 3351 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22201. The facility is accessible by DC Metrorail, just 15 minutes from DCA Washington Reagan National Airport and near hotels and restaurants in the Clarendon and Courthouse urban centers.

Programs will start at 9:00 each morning with a provocative keynote followed by break out discussion groups. Wednesday’s program will end with a happy hour networking event accompanied by poster session and information tables. Thursday’s program will end at 3:00 pm followed by an EPP Section business meeting for anyone interested in the work of the Section.

The conference registration fee, which will include snacks, lunches, a happy hour, and conference activities is +/- $250, depending on ACR membership status and early bird rate..

  • $25 discount for ACR EPP members
  • $25 discount for Early Bird registration (Available through May 20th)

The one day rate is $150. There is also a student rate.

Pre-Conference Training Day- June 12th

This year the 2018 Conference will be preceded by a special Training Day on June 12. This training day offers a menu of valuable career building knowledge to new and mid-career professionals and skills development to more advanced practitioners seeking out of the box training.

Professional Skills Track - Practical Tools for Mapping Conflict Networks - Amitaksha Nag

As a special treat the training day will occur at the GMU S-CAR’s beautiful and unique retreat facility, Point of View, on the Potomac River in Lorton, VA. Trainers costs, transportation from/to the Arlington site, snacks, lunch and an evening happy hour program are all included in the training fee which is $ 175 for the day. The evening program is open to those not attending training for an additional fee. There will be a very interesting and relevant case study presentation after the happy hour.
