Event description

Description

Acoustic Ecology, also known as Ecoacoustics or Soundscape Studies, is the study of a relationship, mediated through sound, between human beings and their environment. What sounds do you hear when visiting the Glen? Have you experienced the gentle moan of a tree branch as it sways in the wind, the chuff of a deer warning others of approaching danger, or the sound made as a snowflake crashes into the frozen ground? Join Madeline Fix to document the soundscape of Glen Helen, using digital recording devices and your smartphone. $5, Glen Helen members $3. Trailside Museum. Sat, Feb. 4, 2pm.
