This course is designed to enhance the student's skills in the treatment of arrest and pre-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiopulmonary patient core cases.

This scenario-based training is designed to enhance and reinforce important concepts, including:

  • Identification and treatment of medical conditions that place a patient at risk for sudden cardiac arrest
  • Reinforce and enhance good BLS CPR skills
  • The Basic Life-support primary survey
  • The ACLS secondary survey
  • Effective resuscitative team dynamics
  • How to effectively integrate CPR and AED usage during advanced level resuscitation including medication administration
  • Recognize early signs of stroke and deliver appropriate patient care
  • Proper usage of basic and advanced airway techniques such as endotracheal intubation along with the use of the Combitube

In addition, students will have an opportunity to work in learning stations while practicing essential skills using guided step by step video and instructor lead hands-on practice. The training environment is stress free and designed to help facilitate learning through group participation.
