Acing Your Observation: High-Leverage Practices for Language Success
Overview
Florida teachers are evaluated on how effectively they plan and deliver instruction - but what does “highly effective” look like in a world language classroom? In this session, we’ll explore how to design lessons that both highlight high-impact teaching strategies and drive students toward language proficiency.
Drawing on Florida’s evaluation frameworks (including Marzano) and current research, we’ll connect the dots between:
- High-leverage teaching practices that evaluators are looking for.
- Engaging, student-centered activities that keep communication at the heart of instruction.
- Klett World Language resources that support teachers in planning lessons where strategies and proficiency outcomes shine.
Participants will walk away with concrete lesson ideas and strategies that not only help them ace their yearly observation but also create authentic, proficiency-focused learning experiences that last far beyond the evaluation.
