ACI 211: The Standard for Normal Weight Concrete Mix Proportioning
The first topic ACI Houston is presenting in 2016 will address issues with mix design.
The presentation will cover:
the nominal size of concrete aggregates, the unit weight of aggregate, the volume of coarse aggregate in a mix design and published relationships to w/cm
the review of a concrete mix design submittal to include test data review and incorporate the above for the review of similar mix design submittal information
Opinions on the evolution of the disappearing relationship of slump to the water content in a concrete mix
William Ciggelakis, P.E., FACI is the Principal-In-Charge for Construction Services & Chief Engineer at Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI). He is a Graduate of Rutgers University, College of Engineering (BSCE) and has 38 yrs. of experience in the fields of Construction Management and Materials Engineering. He is a Chairman of ACI Committee C610 - Field Technician Certification, a Member of the ACI Certification Program Committee, as well as ACI Committees 228, 543, C620, & C630. He is also an ACI Examiner: Field Technician, Laboratory and Flatwork Finishers Certification.
Mr. Ciggelakis is a former president of both the ACI Houston Chapter (1992) and ACI San Antonio Chapter (1996 & 1997).
