Moderator: Paul Longenecker
Paul D. Longenecker is the Program Director and faculty member in the Masters of Science in Allied Health program at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. He has been involved in higher education for the last 29 years serving as full-time and adjunct faculty at The University of Toledo, Ohio University and Lourdes University. The focus of his teaching and research involves leadership, healthcare administration, health advocacy and policy, ethics and evidence-based practice. Prior to coming to higher education on a full-time basis, he was involved in health care services in multiple healthcare settings for over 30 years having served as a health care executive, manager and consultant.

He holds both Associate and Bachelor degrees in nursing, a MBA in Health Care Administration and Management and a PhD in Health Administration. On a personal note; he is married with five children and nine grandchildren (all under the age of seven) and is an avid runner, biker, swimmer, hiker and kayaker.

Panelist: Joseph Geskey
Joseph Geskey, DO, MBA is currently Vice President of Medical Affairs at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital since December 2012. Prior to matriculation at OhioHealth, he was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine, Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Medical Director for Hospital Care Management at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, received his MBA from UMass-Amherst and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University. He is a member of ACHE and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is a Certified Physician Executive from the American Association of Physician Leadership. Dr. Geskey has a passion for Health Literacy and Patient Activation and has developed a unique COPD and CHF curriculum for patients with limited health literacy that is delivered in-home to recipients and that has led to a 40% relative reduction in 30-day hospital readmissions and increased patient activation. His work in this area has been presented nationally at the Wisconsin Health Literacy Summit and the American Association of Physician Leadership Annual Meeting and has been recognized locally in the Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Monthly. He was also named as a 2017 Columbus Business First Champions of Health Care. He is currently working on scaling this work more broadly and into the outpatient setting.”

Panelist: Michael Hyek, PhD
Dr. Michael Hyek is the Senior Director of the OhioHealth McConnell Heart Health Center and has been with OhioHealth for 10 years. Dr. Hyek obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Exercise Science and Chemistry from Texas Lutheran University and a doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Houston. His career accomplishments include teaching and research experience in academia, publications in peer-reviewed journals, owner of a personal training business and manager of a hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation program. Dr. Hyek also has extensive experience in operations management of medical fitness centers including a previous roles as Membership Programs Manager at the McConnell Heart Health Center, General Manager of The Wellness Center in Johnson City, TN and Executive Director of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Wellness Center in Erie, PA. He has been married to his wife, Lori, for 14 years and has two daughters Avery (11) and Margo (7).
