Description

Please join us for our second annual ACE (Advance, Connect, Explore) Conference for school librarians!

We'll have a vendor area, a visit from the Parnassus Bookmobile, guest speaker, engaging sessions, and opportunities for networking thoughout the day.

Breakfast, lunch, and a snack will be provided and tickets are free of charge.

Below is a tentative schedule for the day.

8am breakfast and check in

8:30-9:30am Guest Speaker: Illustrator Mary Reaves Uhles

9:45-10:30am Session 1 (pick one): An Overview of Tenn-Share; A Makerspace in your School; Giving Students a Voice

10:30-10:55am Coffee Break/Vendor Visit

11:00-11:45am Session 2 (pick one): Using Titlewave for Collection Development; Energize, Empower, Advocate; Being Creative with Small Budgets

11:50-12:30pm Lunch, with presentation from TASL and state representatives

12:45-2:00pm Session 3 - Grade Level Roundtables

2:15-3:15pm Session 4 - AASL Presentation

3:30-4:00pm Closing remarks, door prizes, evaluations

About our speaker:

Mary Reaves Uhles has illustrated picture books including A Tuba Christmas and The Twelve Days of Christmas in Tennessee. She has also illustrated the Choose Your Own Adventure Series, Beyond the Grave, and the poetry collection Kooky Crumbs by Poet Laureate J. Patrick Lewis. Mary has twice been awarded the Grand Prize for Illustration from the SCBWI Midsouth Conference; also her piece, EAT, was a finalist in the 2014 Bologna Book Fair Gallery. Mary serves as Illustrator Coordinator for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and lives with her family in Nashville, Tennessee.
