Are you a spiritual seeker, hippie or traveler – accidental or otherwise – interested in co-creating a more conscious Earth? Determined to live purposefully and wholeheartedly day-to-day?
If so, join us (Huffington Post bloggers Karen Talavera, founder of The Accidental Seeker and writer Beverley Golden, author of the forthcoming book Confessions of a Middle-Aged Hippie) at this event where you'll not only meet kindred spirits but also share important insights and approaches for conscious living.
This is a perfect opportunity to make meaningful connections in a small group setting at one of Portland's most authentic diners. If you're attending Chris Guillebeau's World Domination Summit (WDS), it all begins after the WDS morning session on Sunday. If you're not attending WDS, you're welcome too!
Your only cost is brunch/lunch (cash only please) :)
What We'll Do
For eons, spirituality has been the missing 4th dimension of humanity, but the truth is we are every bit as much spiritual beings as we are physical, emotional and intellectual beings. Although humanity has suppressed its essential essence (or coated it in the veneer of religion) for generations, a new period of global awakening and conscious evolution is upon us, and each of us has an important part to play in it.
- what *conscious wholeness* means in the modern world
- how to come out of the "spirituality closet" without sounding either woo woo or preachy OR being ridiculed
- how to incorporate spiritual/seeker values into your everyday life
You'll have ample time to eat, network and participate in our discussion, followed by a short meditation toward the end of our time together.
Whether you're a lifelong spiritual seeker, veteran hippie or have just recently experienced an awakening, this is the perfect place for you to explore the bigger picture and see how to integrate your true divine essence into conventional life. Join us!
When & Where
Karen Talavera and Beverley Golden
Karen is a self-described "Accidental Seeker" who stumbled upon a journey of self discovery, spiritual exploration and non-conformity after years of living the proverbial American dream. A writer, entrepreneur, mother and avid international traveler she draws on the rich and often overlooked experiences of daily life to illuminate opportunities for awakening, share unique perspectives and highlight insights hidden in plain sight. She writes about these (and her challenges living them!) on her blog The Accidental Seeker. Karen's writing has also appeared on Divine Caroline and Elephant Journal.
Her writing explores personal growth, human evolution, happiness and purpose through her own micro-journey as well as the macro-trends she is keenly aware of in society as a whole. She is passionate about inspiring transformation in small, simple ways, especially through the mundane, haphazard, and even chaotic of the everyday. To see more and be advised of new posts, follow Karen on Twitter.
Beverley is the author of the upcoming book, Confessions of a Middle-Aged Hippie, her first full length book; a memoir combining her anecdotal stories taken from her years in the entertainment industry, coupled with her stories of survival, from a lifetime lived with health issues. She has lived her life as a “self professed guinea pig” willing to find and test unconventional ways to shift paradigms and take what she has been told is impossible and transform it into possible.
