Connect your organization’s new leaders — send them through Leadership Springfield’s immersive community experience! Our two-day Access Class offers immediate connection to a network of local leaders through an inside look into the Springfield metropolitan area.

Who Should Attend? Mid to high level & licensed professionals new to the area or those seeking expanded professional connections

Pricing: Classes are typically 30-45 limited to 60 participants. Typical class size is between 25-50. Acceptance is based on date of application and receipt of the registration fee. The cost of the two-day Access Class is $500 per person, which covers the cost of all materials, transportation, meals, speakers and venues.

Access Class Summary Agenda:

DAY ONE - WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21

8am: Welcome & Breakfast at Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce

8am-Noon: Sessions, Speakers & Traveling Tours of area businesses and industries

  • Opening Session with Marissa Weaver (Your Leadership Trainer)
  • Snapsnot of Springfield: to identify the current business, economic and social sector activities relevant to the community today.
  • City Plaza Tour, Citizen Engagement Presentation & Government Officials Panel: to understand how our City & County governments function, their structure and management.

12pm: Connection Lunch

1-5pm: Sessions, Speakers & Traveling Tours of area businesses and industries

  • Innovation in Education: discover priorities of the local school system and the impact of innovative delivery models.
  • Workforce Development and Our Community: to discover resources available in our community for post-secondary education.
  • Workforce Strategies for Success Panel: to explore successful workforce development models in Springfield.
  • Live, Work, Play Local: to identify elements of Springfield that contribute to the quality of life for residents.

5:30 -7:30pm: Family Reception - Invite your family and join us for a private VIB Bowling reception at Andy B's! Get to know other local families and enjoy dinner and bowling on us at a local favorite. Cash bar will be available.

DAY TWO - THURSDAY, AUGUST 22

7:30am: Breakfast and Debrief at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center. Depart Oasis for City Utilities Auditorium.

8am-Noon: Sessions, Speakers & Traveling Tours of area businesses and industries

  • Diversity Development: to explore the community population demographics and trends and provide tools for meaningful conversations about diversity
  • Public Safety in Action: to learn how our public servants work together to keep the community safe.
  • Uniting Resources, Improving Lives: to provide perspectives on addressing poverty and post-secondary attainment in our community through collaboration.

12pm: Lunch & Keynote Speaker at the Arvest Bank Community Room

1-3pm: Sessions and Speakers from area businesses and industries

  • Health Care Partners: to identify local health care providers and how they work together to address community needs.
  • Local Tech with Global Impact: to explore Springfield’s involvement in, contribution to and impact on global economy

3pm: Closing Session: Community Engagement with Marissa Weaver (Your Leadership Trainer) at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center

4:30-5pm: Graduation Ceremony led by Leadership Springfield Board President Don Harkey (People Centric Consulting Group) at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center
